How I Got Here

I didn’t come to yoga through stillness; I came through intensity. At the height of my cross-country mountain bike racing, I was training, working full time, and traveling long distances to compete. I needed something that could help me down-regulate emotionally, manage stress, and take care of a body already carrying persistent injuries. Yoga became that lifeline. It was a way to stretch, build strength, recover, and learn new mental skills all rolled into one.

I started teaching yoga for athletes while coaching triathletes in Hawaii, always with a focus on restorative practices, mobility, and long-term well-being. Meditation came later. It wasn’t until I found yoga nidra that I could truly access the depth and embodiment I had always been seeking. That practice changed everything. Over time, I’ve trained in yoga, mindfulness, and nervous system-centered approaches, but it’s the lived experience that has taught me most. I know what it means to override myself, and what it takes to rebuild wholeness in a way that feels like a real, lived experience. That’s why the work I offer here is grounded, non-performative, and rooted in real life.
